International Certification Multicultural Understanding And Development Exchange South Korea is an educational program by GOTRAVINDO that will be held on January 27th  – February 01st , 2018 in Seoul, South Korea.

South Korea is one of the most advanced nation there is in this era. The technology is extremely progressive and sophisticated. However, South Korean people never forget their culture and tradition. Instead, they make their culture and tradition as priority. They never stop to explore and improve the quality of their lives by preserving their traditional way of lives. Learning to balance between preserving culture and advancing technology is what Indonesian youth should learn from South Korean people. The example of the balance between advancing technology and preserving culture is when South Korean people still wear their traditional attire proudly.

BENEFIT

INTERNATIONALLY CERTIFIED LANGUAGE LECTURE

The participants will be given courses about Korean language and its history also art to achieve the international certificate as a form of appreciation for completing the language lecture and cultural workshop in Seoul.

HISTORICAL ATMOSPHERE AND WORLD HERITAGE EXCURSION

Learn about the history and also back story of South Korea. Meet the people and live witnesses of the history, grasp all of the new information and discuss them with the locals.

INTERNATIONAL JOURNEY OF NATURE EXPLORATION

Learning culture is not always about artificial aesthetic matter such as dancings, ceremonies, folksongs or legends and myths. It can also be about nature and all of its parts. South Korea combines art, culture and nature.

TRADITIONAL LIFESTYLE PRACTICES AND PUBLIC MARKET OBSERVATION

Perfect your learning experience by doing the traditional lifestyle practices including making the iconic traditional food of Korea, and wearing the Korean traditional attire. Learn about the history and background stories behind the tradition.

PREPARATION PROGRAM

The journey begins right when the participants hop into their planes and fly their way to South Korea. The day will be spent on the sky.

KINGDOM OF HISTORY AND HARMONY OF CULTURE

Arriving in the airport, the participants will be welcomed by the distinct atmosphere full of the fragrant culture and hospitality of South Korean people. In the airport, the participants will have a meet and greet with the committees and get airport assistance before going off to the first destination. Afterwards, the participants will be brought to study the traditional food and clothes of Korea to get more comprehension about Korean culture. The participants will be making kimchi and wearing hanbok to get the maximum experience of studying Korean culture.This is the favorite procession on the site. The journey continues in Nami Island. Nami Island is the place full of harmony of culture and humanity. In Nami Island there are many artists from all over the world showing off their creativity and present their art to the nature. Not only is Nami Island full of artsy people, but it also holds cultural events every weekend including Nami International Children Book Festival. There is also an ethnical music museum where the participants can learn about the traditional music instruments and traditional songs from all over South Korea.

CAMPUS LIFE AND WAY OF LIFE SOUTH KOREA

The second day, participants will be invited to learn about culture and Korean Language in Green Korean Language School. Participants will be learned in a variety of active or dynamic situations and get international certificate. After that, participants will learn about campus life in Korean University. In Korean University, participants will make a visit to KU, having campus tour, visit University museum, and participate in cultural exchange between Korea and Indonesia.  Aterwards, participants will learn make a visit to Ewha Womans University, having campus tour and visit University museum. Ewha Womans University was korea’s first educational institute for women. And then, participants will learn about Korean traditional culture and crafts in Insadong. Insa-dong Street is one of the most memorable attractions in Seoul and represents the focal point of Korean traditional culture and crafts. Stores in Insa-dong specialize in a wide variety of goods that can only be purchased or appreciated in Korea: hanbok (traditional clothing), hanji (traditional paper), traditional teas, pottery, and folk crafts.

HARMONY OF CULTURE AND HUMANITY

The first destination on the fourth day is Gyeongbukgung Palace. Gyeongbukgung Palace was the royal palace of Joseon dynasty. Not only can the participants learn about the history of Joseon dynasty, but they can also witness the exciting changing of guards in Gyeongbokgung Palace. After that, participants will be taken to study Korean folklores in National Folklore Museum. The participants will be learning about legends, myths and even traditional bedtimes stories full of moral values. Next, the participants will be brought to study another trademark of Korea in Korea Gingseng Center. In Korea Gingseng Center the participants will be learning about traditional remedies made from gingseng and the use of gingseng itself. The next place that will be visited is Myeongdong Market. Myeongdong Market is constructed on the concept of combining traditional market and shopping center. In Myeongdong Market the participants can witness the trading activities of South Korean people and interact with them.

CLOSING CEREMONY

On the last day in Korea, The participants can witnees the trading activities and also get in direct touch with the people there. The day will be wrapped up by going to the airport to fly back to Indonesia. The participants will arrive in Indonesia with so many new knowledge about South Korean culture in their hearts and minds that they will treasure for the rest of their lives.

ARRIVAL IN INDONESIA

The participants will arrive in Indonesia with so many new knowledge about Korean culture in their hearts and minds that they will treasure for the rest of their lives.

The academic content of the program is formulated by Gotravindo in collaboration with the Seoul National University, Korea University, Yonsei University, Ewha Women University, and Green Korean Language School.

Every participant will receive double an International Certification issued by Green Korean Language School Korean and Gotravindo.

All selected delegates will be active in social project as a voluntary program of Gotravindo to support the Indonesian future development. Please be informed the social project name is SEMANGAT MEMBANGUN NEGERI.

Requirements for University Student Exchange Program :

– University Student or Graduated Student aged between 18-25 years old
– Physically and Mentally Healthy
– Good communication skill and knowledge
– Having good personality and attitude
– Deal to real contribution in World Education
– Able to pay program FEE
